The Director of Recreational Life proactively and directly impacts student lives by developing strategic programs for recreational life for the purpose of involving students in socially and physically enriching extra-curricular activities. The Director of Recreational Life promotes a culture of health and personal stewardship. Program areas include:
Michele has worked in the fitness industry in various capacities which include, group fitness instructor, personal trainer, personal training instructor, wellness educator, wellness coordinator and fitness director since 2003. She has worked in a wide variety of fitness settings from large 3,000+ family membership YMCA's, smaller private clubs and 1,500+ adult/college age membership facilities. In August of 2009 Michele began working for LCU in the Distance Learning Department. She transitioned into Student Affairs as the Director of Recreational Life in the summer of 2010.
Michele attended the University of Houston, where she received her B.S. in Kinesiology. This is also where she met her husband, Dr. Dean Culpepper of the Exercise and Sport Sciences Department. They have been married since 2003 and have two children and are expecing their third child in October 2011.
