Each student is given $25 per long semester (Fall & Spring) and $8 for short terms (Summer or Janmester) for printing.

Printers/copiers are available in all the buildings on campus.
You have access to your print account anytime you are logged in to the LCU network. To access your copy account, log in to the keypads next to the copiers using your full LCU ID number and the last 4-digits of your social security number.

Hardware and Software Support
Technology Services offers technical support for hardware and software from qualified and experienced technicians.
The CHAP DESK is located in the F.W. Mattox Administration Building adjacent to the Library Lab. The CHAP DESK hours are M-TH 8am - 11pm, Friday 8am - 5:30pm, Saturday 10am - 5:30pm and Sunday 2pm - 11:30pm. Call CHAP DESK for summer hours.

Remote Desktop Access
Remote Desktop is used by our thin clients to access our servers and give you access to software and LCU Services. This year we have changed to a Web-based program, the URL is https://netgate.lcu.edu. This application will prompt you for a user name and password. Use your LCU credentials for Self Serve, Moodle, or thePortal.
There is wireless internet available in all of the academic buildings, all the apartments, Katie Rogers, Johnson Hall, the Living Center, the Courtyards, the Library, the SUB, and the Cafeteria. You will need to pass a Network Access Control (NAC) scan of your operating system and antivirus settings. If you are having trouble, contact CHAP DESK.
**Note: We do not have Wireless Access Points in the Campus Apartments, and student Routers are prohibited.
There are two options for network storage available to students:
X-Drive: Every student has an X-Drive. This is storage on our servers. The data on these is backed up weekly and can be accessed from any lab or even from home through terminals. If you have a problem accessing your X-Drive please contact the CHAP DESK.
SkyDrive: This is hosted by Microsoft and is accessible through webmail. This is accessible anywhere in the world that you can get an internet connection. For more information, see the SkyDrive instructional PowerPoint on the Portal.
The Portal is a "digital" campus that makes current grades, schedules, links to learning and financial tools, news and current events available in one site to current students and employees.
Current students can access and view:
- Academic Plans
- Register for classes
- Financial information
- Update their information
Non-current students should be able to find courses that are available.
- Update their information
- Enter grades
- View students academic plans
- Define course activities
- And much more
The full version of Microsoft Office is available for free to all currently enrolled students. It includes:
A free version of antivirus software and the Mac version of Office is also available.

We DO NOT recommend that you purchase Microsoft Office or any type of antivirus software as this software is available to students for free. For more information, click here.
If you are bringing a laptop that you currently own, we suggest avoiding Windows XP Home (this version of Windows is not designed to allow domain logons).

- POWER STRIPS, power outlets are limited in the dorms
- Patch Cable or Network Cable (10-25 feet will usually be long enough)
