Department: Technology Services Position Description: The Directory of Technology Operations monitors and controls the processes essential to continued service improvement; Event Management, Incident Management, Problem Management, Request fulfillment, Access Management, Technology Facilities Management, and Technical Management. Provide the Vice President for Technology Advancement with information and metrics to support technology services strategic planning. Collaborate with Technology Director to support design and transition of technology services to support the continual service improvement lifecycle. ___

Personal Info

Van has worked in the technology field for more than 25 years. He has been with LCU since 2006. As Associate Director or Technology Operations he establishes, plans and implements policies and goals to monitor and control the technology service processes and their underlying infrastructure. Van also serves as System Administrator for the university. The System Admin is responsible for maintaining, upgrading and introducing new systems used by students, faculty and staff on a day-by-day basis.

Van's past work experiences include owning a business. His company provided data communications services and computer consulting services for businesses in the Lubbock, Amarillo, Midland, Odessa and Fort Worth areas. He has been a partner in a local communications firm that provided wireless data communications to local business, Texas Tech University and rural areas. Prior to LCU, Van worked for Wayland Baptist University as the Network Administrator.

Van attended LCU from 1977-1979 where he studied Art and Music. He went on to study Commercial Art at the University of California, San Diego. Van studied Engineering and Physics at Texas Tech University graduating from Wayland Baptist University with a degree in Physics and Math. He continued his studies at LCU graduating with a Master’s of Science in Organizational Leadership.
