Honors Admissions
Program Requirements
Admission to the University Honors Program is based on the following criteria:
- ACT composite score of 27 or higher, or SAT composite score of 1210 or higher on the critical reading and quantitative sections
- High school transcript with a GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or a ranking in the top 10% of the graduating class
- Application for admission, consisting of a formal letter of request for admission from the prospective student
Admission Procedures
Prospective students whose scores have been sent to LCU receive a letter from the University Honors Program, offering conditional admission to the program, pending the student's submission of a formal letter requesting admission.
In the letter requesting admission, the student should state reasons for seeking admission to the program and provide a brief narrative of high school work and future goals. The letter should be mailed to the University Honors Program at the central university address.
Transferring Students
The University Honors Program encourages transfer students who are Honors eligible to apply for admission to the program.
