Andrew Babcock moved to Texas and attended Abilene Christian University where he received a degree in Music Education. Upon graduation he taught band at Medlin Middle School in Trophy Club, Texas. While there he was privileged to help direct the top ensemble for the CC Middle Honor Band Concert held in San Antonio at the 2001 Texas Music Educators Association Conference. In the fall of that same year, Andrew then took a position at Keller High School as one of three band directors in the program. With over 280 members in the marching and concert bands he helped lead the organization in several contests to superior ratings. While at Keller he was the theater music director.
In 2003, Andrew moved back to his hometown of Kalkaska, Michigan to work in the family business and serve as worship minister at the Kalkaska Church of Christ. During the five years he lived there he worked with other local Christian denominations by directing several community Christmas cantatas. Andrew became the Musical Director for the Pathways Arts Council in 2007 helping to organize community musicals.
In the fall of 2008, Andrew returned to Texas and became the band director at Cavazos Middle School in Lubbock, Texas. After serving in that position for a year he accepted the new band director position at LCU in May 2009. Andrew is in the process of finishing a Ph.D in music education from Texas Tech University. His wife Windy is a stay at home mom for their children McKenna, Karleigh, and Cameron.
