Brandon Kelly is currently an adjunct faculty member at Lubbock Christian University. His studies started at Blinn Junior College, under Doctor Craig Garrett, before transferring to Texas Tech University. At Texas Tech he studied under Will Strieder where he finished his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. He also studied at Texas State University, where he received his Masters in Trumpet Performance under Dr. Keith Winking and Jack Laumer. He recently returned to Texas Tech where he has continued his studies towards a Doctoral of Trumpet Performance degree for the last three years.
Brandon has had professional performance experiences with the Centex Brass Quintet located out of San Marcos. Other appearances have been with multiple freelance orchestras, the Brazos Symphony Orchestra, Lubbock Symphony Orchestra and the Lubbock Moonlight Musicals. His command and versatility allows him to work virtually all performance styles on the trumpet from early music to modern, classical, salsa and as well as jazz, popular and sacred. He is in demand for wedding, church and public performances around the state. Mr. Kelly is an alumnus of Kappa Kappa Psi, a professional music fraternity. He is also a member of the International Trumpet Guild and Texas Music Educators Association. He is currently a freelance, private lesson teacher and chamber musician in the state of Texas.
