Research & Internships

The University Honors Program promotes scholarly excellence, and Honors students are encouraged to take advantage of the various opportunities to enhance their education and improve their postgraduate options.

Scholars Colloquium: Lubbock Christian University's Scholars Colloquium is an interdisciplinary, campus-wide forum that showcases student and faculty research.  Students typically work with professors to develop class research papers or projects for colloquium presentations.

Undergraduate Research: Supports and promotes high-quality undergraduate student-faculty collaborative research and scholarship.  It greatly enhances student learning through mentoring relationships with faculty.

National Conference on Undergraduate Research: Annual student conference dedicated to promoting undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative activity in all fields of study.  This gathering of young scholars welcomes presenters from institutions of higher learning from all corners of the academic curriculum.

*Honors students may also present research at the Great Plains Honors Conference, the National Collegiate Honors Conference, or discipline-specific conferences.  Honors students generally receive travel funding for these conferences.

LCU Washington: A growing internship opportunity in partnership with The Washington Center that is available to all LCU students qualified as a junior or senior.  Through a unique combination of guided study, internships, reporting, and seminars, students receive 12-15 hours of credit in the semester program, and 6-9 credit hours in the summer program.

Study Abroad: Offered in several locations around the world.  Some are with LCU faculty and staff.  Others are conducted in partnership with Abilene Christian University, using their facility, faculty and staff.  Semester study abroad locations include Oxford and Leipzig.  Summer or short study abroad locations include Africa, Peru, Guatemala, Honduras, and Europe.
