Statement of Purpose (Why am I teaching?)

Early in my academic experience as a student I was struck by the give and take of ideas in Plato's writings on the life of Socrates. There was always something intriguing about the discovery of meaning and learning for the sake of learning. This fascination ultimately led to my own pursuit of ideas in academia and the academe is the ultimate source of intellectual discovery. I hope that some, if not all of my students feel the same excitement I did as a student learning new things and venturing into the unknown.
