Miners and Cats Win Master Follies Kathleen Wyly
Feb. 12, 2014

Master Follies has come and gone, and our students are returning to a regular sleep schedule. After all the hours of hard work, and cramming in homework during rehearsals, club show winners have been named.

The first place winner in the men’s division was Koinonia. The men of Koinonia played coal miners who, after getting stuck in a mine, had to dig their way out.

The first place winner in the women’s division was Christliche Damen. The women of CD’s played cats trying to get rid of the dog their beloved owner brought home. CD’s show not only stole the judge’s vote, but also the audience’s, earning them the People’s Choice Award.

The second place winner in the men’s division went to Kyodai. The group of men performed as knights out to save the princess from a dragon. Their fierce, parade-style, dragon that chased the men of Kyodai around the stage resulted in the club winning the B. Wayne Hinds Special Effects Award as well.

The second place winner in the women’s division went to Kappa Phi Kappa. The women of Kappa played Christmas thieves out to kidnap Santa Claus to ensure their spot on the “nice list.”

The Spirit of Follies Award went to Zeta Gamma. The women of Zeta played high-energy janitors. After making a mess of the workplace, Zeta had to clean-up in order to keep their job.

In the other Follies shows the ladies of Lambda Omega Alpha explained why Ursula has bitterness toward mermaids, the men of Alpha Chi Delta opened their own space academy and flew to the moon, and the men of Sub-T 16 performed a show based on Tron and boredom.
