LUBBOCK, TX --- September 20, 2012 --- Kenneth Starr, President of Baylor University, will be the featured guest Monday night as Lubbock Christian University continues its weeklong inauguration of L. Timothy Perrin as the sixth president of the university. Starr will join Perrin as they present “Voices of Faith in the Public Square,” in a conversation-style format. The event, free to the public, is set for 7:00 pm in the McDonald Moody Auditorium on the LCU campus.
“I am very pleased that LCU will host Ken Starr for a conversation about the role of faith in the public square,” Perrin stated. “President Starr has served at the highest levels of government, law, and higher education and understands the issues we face today as well as anyone. I had the great privilege of working for him at Pepperdine University School of Law and I'm eager to engage him in conversation about these vitally important matters. It should be interesting and illuminating.”
President Starr, currently serving Baylor as its 14th president, has great experience with the crossroads of faith and learning, having also served as dean of the School of Law at Pepperdine University. Starr is the author of more than 25 books and publications and has received many honors and awards including the J. Reuben Clark Law Society 2005 Distinguished Service Award, and the Jefferson Cup award from the FBI. He has served U.S. Presidents and college/university students of this nation with equal enthusiasm and integrity.
Starr and his wife, Alice, have three children and reside in Waco, Texas.
