Tia Clary was appointed as Vice President/Chief Financial Officer for Lubbock Christian University in March of 2008.
The Chief Financial Officer has management oversight and responsibility for all financial functions and oversees all revenues, costs, capital expenditures, investments and debt.
She is also responsible for various functions including Human Resources, Accounting, Student Financial Services, University ChapStore and Post Office. The vice president/CFO is also a member of the Resource and Investment Committee of the Lubbock Christian University Board of Trustees.
In 1997, she was hired as the Assistant Director of Financial Assistance and promoted to Director in 1999. Her position as Controller for the University began in May 2003, and within the next eight years she was promoted to Assistant Vice President and subsequently Vice President for Financial Affairs.
As CFO for Lubbock Christian University, she is responsible for a $31 million-per-year budget and five administrative components. She has served as an officer on the board of the Texas Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (TASFAA) and received the TASFAA Trailblazer Award for dedication in serving students in 2005.
Tia received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, with honors, in 1996 from Lubbock Christian University. Upon her graduation, she worked for a regional C.P.A. firm for one year before returning to Lubbock Christian University. Tia is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
