Choices. Kelsie Day had plenty of them when it was time to choose a college.

"I did well on the ACTs, so I got a lot of information from schools like Baylor, Pepperdine, Colorado School of Mines, and even schools in New York. But I knew LCU was where I wanted to be."

Like many LCU students, Kelsie possessed a strong faith, but had never attended a Christian school.

"I grew up in public schools, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect here. But I found that I really like having Bible class every day and going to Chapel. Dr. Long, who teaches my Bible class, is my favorite teacher. And Chapel is the one time of day where I can be with all my friends. Then afterward, we get together and decide what we're going to do that night."

Joining an active campus community was extremely important to Kelsie.

"At LCU, there's truly something for everyone and there is so much to do here, so many things to be involved with. I knew about the social clubs before but now that I'm here, I'm always busy. My friends and I go to the Lady Chaps volleyball games. I play trumpet in the pep band and have more friends there. I love running into Lubbock and doing things that are cheap or even free, like hang out at a park or go exploring."

Kelsie encourages others who seek a caring, close-knit community to consider LCU.

"There's always someone right there to help you find a class or sit with you at lunch or help you in any way they can. It's like my favorite camp experience. I have so many great friends here."
