Our graduate programs are designed to accommodate ministers who are working in a variety of settings.  We understand that you may not want to leave your ministry and relocate to another city to attend graduate school. We know that your ongoing ministry efforts can provide opportunities for research and application of what you are learning in graduate school.

Our programs are designed so that most of your classes are taken online and then you come to campus for one week of short courses to meet your residency requirements.  We want you to increase your knowledge of biblical texts and your ability to responsibly interpret biblical texts to improve your ministry.  We want to mentor you to excel in Christian ministry in a way that respects people and honors our Lord and Creator.

We have a long history of preparing students for success in ministry.  For over fifty years, we have trained students for a variety of ministry positions including preaching, youth ministry, missions, chaplaincy, and scholarly research.

Mission Statement

The Department of Biblical Studies is committed to the Scriptures as wholly inspired and authoritative, and its faculty instructs and guides students to an intellectual grasp of Scripture, to a right relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and into active service in the life of the church and community. The department faculty also helps prepare men and women to be informed, effective, caring ministers within the kingdom of God.
