Lubbock Christian University ENACTUS Team receives Sam's Club grantMar. 8, 2013
Lubbock Christian University’s ENACTUS team, formerly known as SIFE, received the Sam’s Club Step Up for Small Business grant in November of 2012. The Sam’s Club grant is a $1,500 grant that is to be used toward building and strengthening a local small business’ foundation for long-term success through improved business practices.
LCU ENACTUS has decided to partner with Kim Silvia, an LCU junior, and her small business, EDA Tech Comm. EDA Tech Comm is a company that helps small businesses build and maintain apps for the success of their business. For more information on this local small business, visit their website www.edatechcomm.com.
LCU Enactus is in the process of developing a coupon app through EDA Tech Comm to benefit Lubbock citizens and local small businesses. Once the app has been introduced and used in the Lubbock community, LCU ENACTUS has until April 15th to submit a Final Impact Report to ENACTUS United States and Sam’s Club on how successful their project was. Once submitted, the LCU ENACTUS project will be in the running for additional cash prizes of up to $5,000; the top three Enactus teams will be announced in May.
Sam’s Club supports community-based programs that empower young people, families and small businesses to make smart choices that lead to healthy and bright futures. Through cash and in-kind donations, Sam’s Club is committed to making an impact on small businesses and ultimately the community.
