John King, Vice President of University Advancement

Fellow students in the Lubbock Christian University class of 1969 chose John King to be their student body president during their senior year at LCU. His love for people and his ability to gather a group to accomplish a goal have been evidenced in the growing numbers of campers in the LCU Summer Camps and in the recent land exchange between the US Forest Service and Pine Springs Camp, adding significant value to the camp's assets. He also supervised the recent, successful completion of a $32 million financial campaign for the university.

After John graduated from LCU, he went on to Harding to get his bachelor's degree and then came back to work at LCU and has been here since that time, serving in a variety of roles: Director of Admissions, Director of Alumni, and Director of Development. John now serves as the VP of University Advancement.

The King Family - John and his wife, Elaine ('70) along with their children, Jon King ('00) and Jennifer Kessler ('01) - have been key to the ongoing progress and success of Pine Springs Camp, which became an auxiliary endeavor of the university in 1999. The Camp celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2010.

David Pruitt, Assistant Vice President of University Advancement

David Pruett brings remarkable skills in relating to people and sharing his vision in such a way that creates effective partnerships with LCU. As the former superintendent of a local private school in Lubbock, he helped to create a very successful and innovative learning environment.

David began his work at LCU in June of 2009, and even in that short amount of time, he has provided a spark of innovation. Utilizing his experience as an international conference presenter on education and as a former member of the Youth Commission for the cities of Dallas and Lubbock, David is creating programs and initiatives that will further enhance the efforts of the university. He established and serves as President of the Lubbock Christian University Foundation.

David received his Master of Education and Educational Specialist degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1987. He and his wife, Patti, have lived in Lubbock for almost 30 years.
