Tia Clary

There seems to exist in certain circles a stereotype of accountants that portrays them as introverted loners. While that generalization is not true, it is especially inaccurate when considering Lubbock Christian University's CFO, Tia Clary ('96). Her engaging and ready smile is disarming, and her sense of humor helps her handle the daily challenges of balancing a multimillion dollar budget.

Tia was already working in Financial Assistance and was named director in 1999 when she received her CPA Certification in 2000. Her responsibilities included overseeing the millions of dollars in scholarship and aid money distributed to LCU students every year. She later moved to the Financial Affairs Office where she now serves as Vice President and CFO.

Tia and her husband, Jim Bob, along with their two sons, Pierce and Parker, live in the small community of Idalou, where life is even more laid back than in Lubbock.
