Biography:
Sam Ayers serves as a part-time Lecturer in the Department of Education at LCU. He is also the Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education in the Lubbock Independent School District. Dr. Ayers received his Doctor of Education degree in elementary education and school administration from Texas Tech University (1990). He received a Bachelor of Arts (1984) in elementary education and history and a Masters of Education (1986) in educational administration from Trinity University. Dr. Ayers has taught in San Antonio and Lubbock public schools. He has also served as an elementary instructional specialist and principal. Dr. Ayers was named the TCTA Texas Elementary Administrator of the Year (2000) and the CEAI National Christian Educator of the Year (2002-03), and the TASSP Texas Middle School Principal of the Year (2008-09).
