Career research shows that the average person will change careers/jobs several times over the course of a working lifetime. This is often due to indecisiveness, poor career preparation, and a lack of career assessment and goal setting.
Career assessment is not a test of knowledge or aptitude. It uses a simple concept common to all people - what we like and dislike.
Career assessment, often referred to as career testing, is an assessment of one's values, skills, abilities, and interests. Knowing these personal attributes can help a student focus clearly on a career direction in relation to his or her academic major.
The assessment can be taken in the LCU Career Services office at no charge to undergraduates, graduates, or alumni. The assessment is self-paced, usually taking 30 to 45 minutes.
The Career Services Office is located in CAA Room 104 - part of the Center for Student Success.
