LCU is committed to providing appropriate accommodations for students under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1963.
Students requesting such accommodations are required to provide the university with documentation from a licensed professional of their disability which will be kept on file in the Disability Services office. The information must be current (within three years).
Each semester, students are responsible for
- Ensuring that current documentation is on file in the Disability Services office and requesting accommodations within the first week of enrollment in a long semester or by the second class day of a short term;
- Discussing the approved accommodation with each instructor within the third week of enrollment in a long semester or by the fourth class day of a short term.
- The university is not required to provide accommodations if the student fails to complete the above steps.
LCU has a faculty committee designated to review documentation and make recommendations for accommodations. The disabilities coordinator then works with the student in communicating with faculty the approved accommodations.
