The Academic Support and Testing Center is located in the new Center for Academic Achievement Building (CAA). Three areas are included in this department: Academic Support Tutoring Center, Disability Services, and University Testing. Office hours are 8:30 to 5:00 Monday through Thursday and 8:30-noon on Friday. The Tutoring Center is open until 8:00 on Tuesday evenings.
The tutoring center offers free peer tutoring to LCU students. Students seeking tutoring should go to CAA Room 118 to request a tutor. Most tutoring is done on a one-to-one basis, so individual attention is given to each client. Clients are requested to bring textbooks and class notes to the tutoring sessions.
The disability services area serves students who are under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1963. Students seeking accommodations must provide current documentation from a licensed professional. Students should come to CAA Room 117 to visit with the coordinator of disability services to request accommodations.
The university testing center administers CLEP, ACT, Accuplacer, THEA, CAAP, and DANTES exams. The testing center is located in CAA Room 116.
Students requesting services in any of these areas should either stop by the office or telephone the coordinator of the specific area.
