- Toby Rogers
Mr. Rogers is a Lubbock native who holds a B.S. in Biology from Lubbock Christian University and a Master of Physical Therapy from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC). He practiced physical therapy at University Medical Center Outpatient Therapy Center for approximately five years during which time he began pursuing a doctoral degree from Texas Tech University. Additionally, he taught for the TTUHSC Physical Therapy Program in Odessa for one year prior to beginning at LCU. The emphasis of his doctoral work is Orthopedic Sciences related to Biomechanics and Motor Learning. He is currently teaching courses in the Kinesiology Department such as Human Movement, Exercise Testing and Prescription, Introduction to Kinesiology, and Principles of Strength and Conditioning.
- Larry Rogers
Dr. Rogers came to Lubbock Christian College as a student from Twin Falls, Idaho, when Lubbock Christian was a Jr. College. After graduating from Lubbock Christian, he completed a Bachelors degree at Abilene Christian College. He returned to Lubbock Christian as a part time teacher and began work on his Masters degree at Texas Technological College. Dr. Rogers has been at Lubbock Christian since that time, serving as Kinesiology Department Chairman from 1977 until 2003. Presently he teaches courses in the Kinesiology Department as well as advises students desiring to teach Physical Education.
- Darrel Price
Darrell teaches the majority of personal fitness and wellness classes. Darrell completed his bachelor’s in education at Harding University in 1971, and his master’s in education at Texas Tech in 1972. Students in Darrell’s classes benefit from his varied experiences which include classroom teaching as well as collegiate head coaching. He has a passion for helping students make positive lifestyle changes while using a spiritual perspective.
- Gary Bowe
Gary Bowe attended Lubbock Christian College from 1959 to 1961, where he ran track and played basketball for the Chaparrals. In 1961, he transferred to Texas Tech University, where he continued his track career for two years. Bowe graduated from Texas Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree. Continuing his education at Texas Tech, he received his Masters of Education degree in 1965. In 1963, he joined the staff of Lubbock Christian Schools, serving as the Athletic Director, as well as the Basketball and Golf Coach. In 1965, he joined the teaching faculty of Lubbock Christian University in the Physical Education Department. Bowe continues to teach in the current Department of Kinesiology at LCU.
- Larry Christian
Larry Christian received a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Texas Tech University in 1968 and a Master of Science in Education degree from Texas Tech University in 1975. He is certified in secondary education in grades 6-12. With 37 years experience in education, Mr. Christian has served 16 years as a teacher and coach and 16 years as principal in both junior high school and high school. The past five years he has taught at LCU working with secondary preservice teachers and middle school specialists. He shares his years of experience and knowledge of the diversity of students, from at risk through advanced gifted and talented, to help prospective teachers develop the views, skills, and talents needed for their chosen profession.
- Dustin Driskill
Dustin is a graduate of Texas Tech University where he received his B.S. He also graduated from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center where he obtained his Masters in Athletic Training. Dustin serves as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Lubbock Christian University Athletic Department and frequently teaches in the Kinesiology department. He worked for Covenant Sports Medicine and Plano West Senior High prior to coming to LCU. Currently, he serves as a clinical supervisor for the Masters of Athletic Training Program at Texas Tech and does contract work for local high schools through University Medical Center’s Team Rehab program. He has lived in Texas since 1996 and is originally from Oklahoma. Dustin is married to Dondra Driskill (LCU alumni) and they have a child (Chay).

- Donna Bowles
(Personal) Donna Bowles grew up in Austin, Texas. She met her husband of many years while a student at Lubbock Christian College. They have two children Logan, a graduate of Texas Tech University with a master’s degree in Accounting now working in Dallas; and Shane, a student at Texas Tech University working on his Construction Technology degree in Tech’s engineering school. The family has a fabulous golden retriever Jake and a new baby Maltese named Ollie. (Academic) Donna Bowles has attended the University of Texas, Texas Tech University, and Lubbock Christian College. She received her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from LCC and her Masters in Administrative Education from Texas Tech University. She has taught high school business courses and elementary physical education in the public schools. She began teaching Kinesiology courses at Lubbock Christian University after the turn of the last century! Go Chaps!
- Janda Jackson
Janda Jackson received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Missouri Western State College and her Master of Science in Exercise & Sport Science from Central Missouri State University. Prior to coming to Lubbock Christian University to teach in the Kinesiology Department, she was the Assistant Director of Recreational Sports at Texas Tech University and has worked in the Fitness and Wellness field for 15 years. Ms. Jackson has taught classes at CMSU and TexasTech University, and at LCU she teaches personal fitness and wellness classes.
- Kristi Starr
Kristi is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where she majored in German and English. She taught at Pflugerville High School for 6 years. She joined the kinesiology department as an adjunct in 2004. She also works as a group exercise instructor at Bodyworks, teaching a variety of classes. Kristi enjoys spending time with and cooking and baking for her family and friends. She cites cooking and eating as primary motivators for exercise. Her husband, Brian, teaches in LCU's business department, and they have 3 children - Joshua, Caleb, and Rachel.
- Paul Hise
Paul Hise attended Lubbock Christian University from 1987-91. He played basketball for the Chaps for four years while earning a B.S. in Secondary Education. After graduation, he remained at LCU for 2 years as a graduate assistant for the men's basketball program while working on his Master's Degree at Texas Tech. He earned a Masters in Education (emphasis in Sports Administration) from Texas Tech in 1993. After finishing his degree, he spent 11 years coaching high school basketball at Abernathy, Brownfield, Lockney, and Sweetwater. Hise became the Athletic Director at Lubbock Christian University in July of 2004. He lives in Lubbock with his wife Carol and his two daughters, Jordan and Jacey.
- Hope Martin
Dr. Martin holds a B.S. in Liberal Arts from Lubbock Christian University, a B.S. in Occupational Therapy from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, a Master of Arts in Occupational Therapy with an emphasis in Orthopedic Biomechanics from New York University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University. In addition to her occupational therapy license she is also a certified hand therapist (CHT). She currently practices occupational therapy/hand therapy part-time for University Medical Center’s NorthStar Sports Medicine Clinic. She is joining the Kinesiology Department as an adjunct faculty in the fall of 2007.
