LCU’s Business Administration Department is proud to sponsor a chapter of Students in Free Enterprise, an organization that is active on college campuses around the world. SIFE’s mission is to educate the community about the nature of our free market system and help others succeed in that system by teaching:
- Market Economics
- Success Skills
- Entrepreneurship
- Financial Literacy
- Business Ethics
Towards that end, SIFE students participate in hands-on projects each year that allow meaningful interaction with people ranging in age from grade school students to the elderly. Historically, LCU’s projects have garnered significant recognition and awards at both regional and national competitions. Some of our recent and currently slated projects include:
- Financial responsibility seminar for college students
- Identity theft seminar for the elderly
- Business ethics debate for high school students
- Interaction with startup businesses in West Texas
Though many SIFE students naturally come from the Business Administration department, SIFE is proud to include active and integral members from a variety of majors across campus. Students may even opt to participate in BUA 2199, an activity course that rewards active participation in SIFE with an hour of elective credit. Signing up for the course, however, is certainly not required for SIFE participation. Join us on Tuesdays at noon in AD206 during Fall 2006 as we prepare ourselves and our communities for success in our Free Enterprise system.
