Jonna Byar Instructor of Psychology |
Dr. Byars teaches general psychology, drugs and alcohol, human development, ethics, human sexuality, and group counseling courses.
In private practice, Dr. Byars works with addictive disorders, eating disorders, and childhood tauma. Dr. Byars is also on the Board of Directors and the Volunteer Supervisor for the Haven Animal Care Shelter.
Dr. Byars is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor and a Qualified Administrator of the Myers-Briggs Personality Type indicator. |

Dr. Linda Cash Professor of Human Sciences |
Dr. Cash teaches abnormal psychology and play therapy. Dr. Cash also oversees the practicum experience for psychology and family studies majors. Dr. Cash's area of interest include abused and neglected children, at-risk youth, and play therapy.
Dr. Cash is a Certified Family Life Educator, a Certified Building Family Strengths Facilitator, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a Registered Play Therapist. Currently, Dr. Cash works as a counselor for the Head Start Programs and foster care agencies. |

Shauna Frisbie Associate Professor of Family Studies |
Dr. Frisbie teaches undergraduate human development, family life education and enrichment, parenting, and family stress, crisis and resilience, in addition to graduate counseling and family life education courses.
Dr. Frisbie is a Certified Family Life Educator, Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, National Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor. Dr. Frisbie primarily works with clients with eating disorders, mood disorders and trauma. |

Dr. Michael Hardin Assistant Professor of Family Studies Chair, Department of Behavioral Sciences |
Dr. Hardin is a licensed professional counselor, a licensed marital and family therapy associate and an approved supervisor for licensed professional counselors. He has previously worked as a supervisor at the Buckner Residential Treatment Center, has been an investigator for adult protective services, and most recently was the supervisor over social work, chaplaincy, and bereavement counselors for Hospice of Lubbock.
Currently Dr. Hardin functions as a deacon at Green Lawn church of Christ where he co-chairs the committee that overseas counseling support and preventative mental health groups (grief recovery, divorce care, support for sex addicts, Christians Against Substance Abuse, etc.) He also remains active in his private practice, specializing in couple and family therapy and grief recovery.
Dr. Hardin serves as Vice President on the Board of Directors for Hospice of Lubbock. |

LynnAnne Joiner Instructor |
LynnAnne teaches family, family violence, psychological statistics, and human development courses. She graduated with her bachelor's degree in communications from Lubbock Christian University in 2002. She graduated with her master's degree in marriage and family Therapy from Abilene Christian University in 2004. She is currently completing her doctorate in marriage and family therapy at Texas Tech University.
LynnAnne is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Asociate. She has worked in a variety of settings. Her areas of interest include sexual abuse and couple therapy. |

Dr. Beth Robinson Graduate Director Professor of FLE and Counseling |
Dr. Robinson is a licensed professional counselor, and approved supervisor for licensed professional counselors, and a certified school counselor. Since 1992, Dr. Robinson has worked in a variety of counseling positions. She currently has a private practice specializing in traumatized children.
Dr. Robinson has previously been employed as a counselor by the Children's Home of Lubbock, and the Panhandle Assessment Center in Amarillo, Texas; and Director of Counseling Ministries for Monterey Church of Christ in Lubbock, Texas. She has been a junior and ahigh school teacher, a foster parent, a camp counselor and teacher, a volunteer in youth ministry programs, a Bible teacher and a counselor.
Dr Robinson has written three books: All About Sex: The School Counselor's Guide to Handling Tough Adolescent Problems; Sex: Helping Church Teens Deal With Challenging Issues; and Pass the Peanut Butter and Jelly: Inspirational Stories for the Sandwhiched Generation. |

Andy Young Associate Professor of Psychology |
Dr. Young teaches forensic psychology, general psychology, crisis intervention, theories of counseling, theories of personality, and introduction to counseling professions.
Dr. Young works with the Lubbock Police Department (LPD) in a number of roles. He was an original member of the Victim's Assistance Crisis Team. Currently, he is the supervisor for the Victim's Assistance Crisis Team, is Clinical Director for the Critical Incident Stress Management team, and is an assistant negotiator and consultant with the LPD SWAT team. In addition, Dr. Young is the Clinical Director for the Lubbock Fire Department CISM Team and is a member of the South Plains Association of Governments CISM team. He remains actively involved with various ministries at Vandalia Church of Christ. |
