The department sponsors many extra-curricular organizations and training events that complement cadet development outside of the classroom. Such activities include:
- Ranger Challenge Team – competitive military skills team.
- Ranger Company – additional adventure training and infantry skills.
- Pershing Rifles – military precision drill & marksmanship training.
- Scabbard & Blade – national military honor society.
- Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP) – joint duty with local Army Reserve or National Guard units with pay & benefits.
- Field Training Exercises (FTX) – one weekend FTX each semester.
- Leader’s Training Course (Ft. Knox, KY) – constructive credit for sophomores to enter 2-year program, 4 weeks of summer training.
- National Advanced Leadership Camp (Ft. Lewis, WA) – required for all third year ROTC cadets, 6 weeks of summer training.
- Educational Delay Program – time granted for completion of seminary, law school, or medical school prior to reporting for active duty.
- Nurse Summer Training Program – three-week internship at a major Army medical center under an active duty nurse.
- Special Military Schools – volunteer for Airborne, Air Assault, Mountain Warfare, & Northern Warfare Schools.
- Social Events – military balls, dining outs, and cadet socials.
- Cadet Troop Leadership Training (CTLT) – three-week internships with active-duty units throughout the world & across all branches.
