The Celebrating Begins
A special chapel service is planned in the McDonald Moody Auditorium as the official kick-off of the fifteen month long slate of events Celebrating 50 Years. While opening chapel is typically filled with tradition, pomp and celebration, it will be made more special this year with the attendance of founding faculty and staff as well as alumni through the years.

Celebrating 50 Years of Service
A student centered weekend with service at the very core. The faculty, staff and student body will build a Habitat for Humanity house on campus during a weekend of lending a hand to community service agencies, culminating in a steak dinner and free concert for participants.

Celebrating 50 Years of Heritage
During these 50 years, faculty, staff, alumni and former students of LCU have been building the LCU Legacy. This legacy has also been impacted by partnerships and associations with numerous community leaders and businesses leaders. This dinner will be an opportunity for alumni and friends to celebrate the heritage shared by the LCU community and the Lubbock community.

Master Follies began during LCU’s second academic year and is one of LCU’s longest standing traditions. Celebrating 50 Years of the Pioneering Spirit
Founders, founding families, former and current faculty and staff will be special guests for this weekend of activities. Special reunions for the classes of 1959 and 1960 as well as for all former LCU chorus members are scheduled. This will be a great time to come back and visit with former professors and staff members and to watch an original theater production chronicling LCU’s history written by Dr. Don Williams.

A premier event featuring General Colin Powell as the speaker is the finale for Celebrating 50 Years. This event will be a spectacular extravaganza with a dual purpose of celebrating our heritage and embracing our future.
This event is almost sold out. A few premier $5,000 Silver Level tables are available, which includes two passes to the VIP reception and a photo with Colin Powell.
